she started with a portrait
named that layer before

use quick selection tool to select the face/head of subject
refine as needed
and layer mask
add background layer under subject layer and fill with solid color
duplicate subject layer and convert to smart object
hide original subject layer
use lasso tool to select part of the top of his head

add layer mask and invert
(or hold option as you click layer mask to automatically create inverted mask)

select the bottom section of face with the lasso tool
and with mask selected, fill it with black

duplicate that layer and with mask selected, invert it

hide the middle layer
with top layer mask selected, use lasso tool to select top of head and fill with black
deselect
reveal middle layer
free transform top layer with bottom of face as you want
and so the same to the middle layer which is middle of face

on the middle layer, command + click to load as a selection
then on the layer mask hold shift + option + command to load the intersection of the mask and the original image
to save this selection, click select - save selection - name middle - ok - deselect
do the same to the top layer (with the bottom of the face) and save selection
to save this selection
in channel panel, click new layer, fill with white - deselect
to have both selections together
load both by command clicking on one in the channel panel and hold shift while still holding command and click on the other
click new layer and fill with white
now you have 3 selections in the channel panel, one with top middle of head, one with bottom of head and one with both
they have shortcuts you can see on the right side of the layer in the channels panel

click on RGB channel
then go back to layers panel
open the flowers
from the file she provides, you can open them all in library by
clicking create new library in library, name it
go to flower folder, select all, then click and drag into library panel
then you can click and drag the first flowers into file
then press option + command + the # of the shortcut from channels panel that you want to load
then create inverted mask by hold option and clicking layer mask
you can paint in white on mask to reveal or black to hide certain parts of the flower

repeat for other flowers
and add which layer mask you want (middle, bottom or both)
here is her final

play with adding shadow underneath, colors, etc.
