Color Matching Using Curves
these are notes based on a YouTube video by Lisa Carney at Adobe Max 2018
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nsa4KtHAAvo&t=928s

Add curves adj. layer
(hold option as you click adj layer to be able to name it)
hold down option and click auto button
choose find dark and light colors
use color picker to select shadows, midtones, and highlights
(midtones, she tries to keep around 50)
hit OK
do not save these as default
then can adjust curves (red, green or blue)

on color.adobe.com you can import an image and pick the colors and save the color theme

then download the swatches and drag into Photoshop
add gradient map adj layer and use swatch colors to make your gradient map points
with swatches panel open
* can also use adobe capture on phone to get a color theme if you are out
Here is my version of this
I was trying to match the team I cutout of a different photo to the background layer, so I did a curves adjustment layer like above and clipped it to the team layer.
