RIM LIGHT
add a rim light with blending options
on new layer that is clipped to subject layer paint with white on edges
where light would hit and change blend mode to screen

then use blending options to pull back from shadow (left) side
to apply effect to just highlights

to add color to rim light
add curves layer to make cyan

mask filled with black and painted white where you want effect
clip to subject layer
then change blending options to affect only highlights

can paint more or less in by painting mask with black or white
to hide or show
my version
